Acceptable Use & Copyright Policy
Effective date: October 17, 2026
FreeVocalRemover is a tool for separating your own audio into a vocal track and an instrumental. It doesn't generate, clone or synthesize voices, music or any other content: every track it returns is part of the file you uploaded. This policy is part of our Terms of Service and applies to free and paid use.
What you may upload
Only audio you own or have permission to process this way, for example:
- songs, demos and recordings you made yourself;
- tracks you have licensed, with a license that allows editing or remixing;
- public-domain or royalty-free audio whose license allows this use;
- material the rights holder has given you permission to use.
If a recording contains someone's voice, it must be your own voice, or you must have permission from that person or from the rights holders of the recording.
Prohibited content
You may not use FreeVocalRemover to upload, process or distribute content in any of these six categories:
- Sexual content: pornography or other sexually explicit (NSFW) material.
- Violence and gore: content that threatens, glorifies or incites violence, or depicts graphic gore.
- Hate speech: content that attacks or demeans people because of their race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability or similar characteristics.
- Content that endangers children: anything that sexualizes or exploits minors, including child sexual abuse material (CSAM). We report it to the authorities.
- Deepfakes and impersonation: faking or imitating a real person's voice to make it seem they said or sang something they didn't (for example an "AI cover" in a singer's cloned voice), whether or not they agree, and passing yourself off as another person, artist or brand.
- Copyright and trademark infringement: uploading audio you don't have the rights to process, or publishing, selling or distributing separated vocals or instrumentals of someone else's music without the rights holders' permission.
Other things that are not allowed
- uploading unlawful content, or content obtained in breach of another platform's terms;
- automated or abusive use: scraping, overloading the Service, or getting around usage limits, for example by rotating IP addresses or creating many accounts;
- reselling access to the Service without our permission.
How files are handled and how we keep the Service safe
- FreeVocalRemover doesn't publish, share or host user content. Uploads and results are kept in private storage, can only be reached through signed links that expire, and are deleted automatically about an hour after upload.
- The Service doesn't create new content, so there are no prompts or generated outputs to filter: the separated tracks are produced by an AI model (Demucs) from the file you upload and are processed versions of your own audio.
- We don't download anything from YouTube or other websites; the Service only processes files you upload.
- Daily limits per IP address and across the Service, and limits on file length and size, keep automated abuse in check.
- We review every report ourselves, check the account and records involved, and act on what we find, as described below.
Reporting misuse
To report content or behavior that breaks this policy, such as misuse of someone's voice, impersonation or anything that endangers children, email support@freevocalremover.app with "Report" in the subject. Tell us what happened, when, and any details that help us find it, such as the account email involved.
- We keep the identity of the person reporting confidential.
- We review every report objectively. Reports made in bad faith may be ignored.
- We reply within 2 business days. Reports involving the safety of children are handled first, within 24 hours.
Reporting copyright infringement
If you believe the Service is being used to infringe your copyright, email support@freevocalremover.app with:
- the work you believe is being infringed, and your relationship to it;
- how the Service is being used to infringe it, with any details that help us find the activity;
- your name and contact details;
- a statement that you believe in good faith that the use is not authorized, and that the information in your notice is accurate.
We reply within 2 business days. Because files are deleted within hours, we usually can't retrieve them, but we will investigate the account involved and act on what we find.
Enforcement
Depending on how serious a violation is, we may:
- delete the files involved straight away (they are deleted within about an hour in any case);
- remove credits from the account, without a refund;
- close the account, and close the accounts of repeat infringers;
- report illegal content, such as material that endangers children, to the authorities.
If you think we got a decision wrong, reply to our message within 14 days and we'll review it again.
